Blogging + Tweeting = Bleeting?

If “web log” became blog, and now we Tweet on Twitter… is it called a Bleet when your blog content is posted to Twitter too?

Methinks I like that term… Bleeting.

Sounds plaintive ;-)

BAAH!

Hmmm, herd imagery. That’s poetic.

Managing Your Twitter Account

Managing your Twitter account (when you take it seriously) can be a bit tedious. There are times when you will want to bulk unfollow people, bulk follow people and potentially do some other fancy footwork with your social media footprint. Here are some web sites offering tools to help you handle the drudgery of bulk Twitter updates:

* Use www.friendorfollow.com to discover and track people who are not following you.

* Use www.huitter.com to unfollow all those who are not following you.

* You can also manage your Twitter account with http://dossy.org/twitter/karma/ and handle both follows and unfollows in a controlled fashion.

Note: These helper tools will require you grant them access to your account via your username and password. If you’re unsure about this don’t do it. Personally I just change my password beforehand, let the system do its thing, and then change my password immediately afterwards to protect myself.

Have fun!

Internet Video Gains Popularity with TV Viewers

When asked why they would or would not adopt online video, all age groups were most concerned with picture quality and download speed. Tech-savvy young adults put more emphasis on the ability to stream straight from the Internet to a large-screen TV, and 47% want to do that in high-definition. This is good news for websites, such as Hulu.com, and very scary news for cable TV providers. Budget-conscious consumers are more likely than ever to cut their cable subscriptions in favor of watching TV via Internet. These days, it’s not just college kids watching their budgets.

Key takeaway:

What that means for marketers is that a gradual shift of media dollars from TV to the Internet is very likely. Advertiser budgets must follow consumer eyeballs.
