Blogging + Tweeting = Bleeting?
If “web log” became blog, and now we Tweet on Twitter… is it called a Bleet when your blog content is posted to Twitter too? Methinks I like that term… Bleeting. Sounds plaintive ;-) BAAH! Hmmm, herd imagery. That’s poetic. Posted via email from jamesburchill’s posterous | Comment »

Internet Video Gains Popularity with TV Viewers
When asked why they would or would not adopt online video, all age groups were most concerned with picture quality and download speed. Tech-savvy young adults put more emphasis on the ability to stream straight from the Internet to a large-screen TV, and 47% want to do that in high-definition. This is good news for websites, such as Hulu.com, and very scary news for cable TV providers....

Newspapers Will Soon Be Extinct...
That’s a cheerful thought isn’t it? Well it seems that it may very well be a reality sooner than many news papers imagined. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/photofeatures/2009/04/newspapers-are-screwed.php?img=1 Here’s my 2-cents on this. I reckon many of these papers could have avoided their untimely demise if they’d only figured out what business they were in. I...

2 new improvements to Google results pages
On March 24, Google rolled out two new improvements to its search. The first offers an expanded list of useful related searches and the second is the addition of longer search result descriptions — both of which help guide users more effectively to the information they need. Here’s a chunk-o-text from their blog: “More and better search refinements Starting today, we’re...
Help! What should I write about now?
I’m hardly ever at a loss for words… just ask my friends *wink* But it’s a regular question I hear from those people who are blogging and using social media to market their business. “James, what should I write about now?” Here’s the answer: Ask Basically just ask your market what it wants and then give it to them. Now, I’m not suggesting you use a...
Twitter Tips
Here’s 2 tips to optimize your Twitter experience: 1) Ensure you have a complete BIO and there’s a working link to a ‘real’ website. People with a bio and a link have 8 times as many followers as those that don’t. 2) Tweet more frequently for more followers. The ideal range of daily tweets is between 10 and 50, with 22 being the “tweet spot” :-) ...
I passed the 1,000 followers barrier
I awoke a few days ago, and without any fanfare or celebration, I was greeted with 1,003 followers on my Twitter account. I hope my tweets are worth the time it takes to scan 140 chars ;-) Thank you, thank you very...

Timothy Ferriss - Tweet to Beat
On the surface this seems like such a magnanimous concept. Follow Timothy Ferris (author of the 4 Hour Workweek) on Twitter and Mr Ferriss’ will donate $1 to charity. An unnamed source will donate another $2 - totaling $3 to charity for every follower.
Awesome idea right?
WRONG, and here’s why…
