[BFM Member Update] Oops, pressed the WRONG button!

A little while ago my followup system sent out a reminder to my
> BFM course attendees… or so I thought. It would appear my

> Now, don’t go thinking that you suddenly gained access to the

> But it did include the link to today’s webinar. And because of the

My 4-0 "Fire Sale" - worth a read...

A Personal Letter of Thanks

Last year, the Washington Speakers bureau (my US speaking agency) was taking bookings for my 90 minute US/Can keynote speaking engagements at the rate of $3,995 + expenses.

Since then I’ve gone on to launch the highly successful Online Coaching program Business Fusion Marketing, spoken at numerous high profile events, and been interviewed and profiled by IBM, PC Magazine and DELL Small Business to name a few.

And yet, instead of increasing my fees I’m doing something different, I’m decimating them (just for a short while) and running a “40th Fire Sale”.

Permit me to explain how my upcoming birthday will get you access to one of North America’s leading authorities on Social Media, Internet Marketing and Online Business Development Strategies for a fractional fee.

It’s My birthday, and I’m paying it forward

On June 9th this year I hit the big 4-0. It’s a milestone event in my life considering the path I’ve walked, and while it’s not always been an easy one, I’d not trade it for the world (OK, maybe I would, I’d need to see the contract… ) I am who I am because of it - and here’s the point: I’m grateful and want to pay-it-forward.

The twists and turns, the curve-balls, the serious *ss-kickings I’ve received (‘scuse the language) have made me the man I am today: a fusion of artist, writer, speaker, teacher, technologist, futurist and entrepreneur.

My friends know I’m a little playful (you may have gathered this from a few of my recent YouTube videos) and yet through it all I seek to add value to my client’s businesses. Which is why I’d like to put this out there for your consideration.

Until June 9th…

I’d like to offer you the opportunity to book me as a speaker/trainer for a fraction of my regular fees. I’ll attend your local place of business or event and deliver a powerful presentation from my selection of Internet, Online Marketing and Social Media related materials.

And these aren’t some stiff overly formal presentations (although they can be if you want), nope, I enjoy interactive Q&A with the audience and am happy to let the presentation morph into a brainstorming session too. You can mix it up a bit as well, if you have an idea, call me - you’ll find I’m easy to work with.

Here are a few ideas how You can leverage this opportunity:

    * Educate and train your staff (I can express complex ideas in everyday speak)
    * Present to your board (As a former Sr.Exec, I speak fluent business and tech)
    * Educate and train your clients (or potential clients… I speak sales)

So how much for such great value? For a fractional fee you’ll get me for up to 3 hours onsite - and I’ll even provide materials (subject to a few caveats of course!) All for only $999.

Just remember, this “40th Fire Sale” won’t last for ever. If you want to take advantage of me [grin] then you’ll need to book before my birthday. After that, I have to act all grown up again.

Are you doing this?

Is THIS You?

»> An Analysis of Business Marketing Activities

The recent analysis of the marketing activities for more than 100 businesses revealed some fascinating results:

For example, over 70% of the sample do “little or no” advertising, and of those who do, most express reservations on the success of their ads.

Almost universally they distrust advertising agencies, believing that agencies simply don’t understand the needs and nature of the business. Many report having being “burned” by agencies, and prefer to do their own ads.

Over 95 % have no written marketing plan.

Almost 100% perceive their competitive advantage to be their “outstanding service”, “better quality”, “understanding the customers’ needs” ‘” and caring.

But almost to a person, they believe they are not communicating this service excellence effectively. They express a strong sense of frustration that if only they could communicate what they offer, their business would grow in leaps and bounds.

Remarkably, less than 25% have a program in place to systematically follow-up customers and extend further services to “nurture” them into long term loyal clients.

Very few EVER write to their customers after the sale.

Doesn’t this list reveal some amazing opportunities to you?

Newspapers Will Soon Be Extinct...

That’s a cheerful thought isn’t it? Well it seems that it may very well be a reality sooner than many news papers imagined.

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/photofeatures/2009/04/newspapers-are-screwed.php?img=1

Here’s my 2-cents on this. I reckon many of these papers could have avoided their untimely demise if they’d only figured out what business they were in. I jumped out of the print publishing world a few years back because of this…

MISTAKE #1: Thinking you’re in the “news” business…

MISTAKE #2: Thinking you’re in the “paper” business…

Actually, no one gives a toot that the delivery mechanism was paper… what they cared about was that they got the information they wanted. News schmooze…

Granted paper has it’s place, but the ‘news paper’ was the only game in town for so long they forgot what they were there for:

CONNECTING PEOPLE.

And then this little technology called the Internet came along and well… you know what happened next.

The lines are blurring, the media is mixing and the only way to stay alive is to forget “paper” or “tv” or “radio” and start thinking Internet.

If you don’t believe me… ask the Easter Bunny ;-)
