Managing the Mayhem of 378 Online Profiles
If you’re like me, you have more than a few favourite websites you visit. Logging in to each website typically requires a username and password for access.
Well imagine if you had 378 profiles to manage, and the number keeps growing as you find more cool sites and register. Welcome to my world!
Today I’d had enough of manual profile management, and decided it was time to automate this task. For the PC, the software tool to consider is unquestionably RoboForm. But since I’m running on a Mac platform I chose 1Password.
Either one is an award winning solution, and these great applications manage your profiles, generate and secure your password, even allow you to keep other important data encrypted. And ease of use … how’s one button? I was sold.
Yup, in most cases you arrive at the website of choice and push a button … that’s assuming the application hasn’t already filled in the forms for you!
Now I should mention these software programs are not free, but if they stop you getting your ID stolen, or save you a few moments each day, they I’d say they’re worth the price. Imagine how much simpler my surfing will be, now that I don’t have to remember 378 user profiles.
I’m still stunned that I was doing this all in my head! Just goes to show what you can remember when you add things slowly over time. Anyway, here are the web links to the programs, and NO … I’m not an affiliate. These are clean links and I don’t get a dime for recommending them to you:
